Next Few Weeks

  • Assigning instruments
  • Head Start Reading Notes and Rhythms
  • Non-Beginners record a short performance of themselves
  • Most students should have instruments by the end of the month!

Next few months

  • Beginners start learning how to play the instrument (click for detailed beginner pacing)
  • Non-Beginners are placed in small groups based on playing level for small group and individual assignments/projects

Around November and into the rest of the semester

  • Both groups combine when beginners have learned to use the bow
  • Curricular focus is developing the awareness and precision of large group ensemble performance
