The Orchestra Program
The River Trail Middle School orchestra program started with 125 students when the school opened in 2001. Over time, with the support of the community and the high school orchestra programs, the River Trail Middle School orchestra program grew and maintained an enrollment of over 300 students for several years. Students in the program participate in community music ensembles including the Fulton County Youth Orchestra, Metropolitan Youth Symphony Orchestra, Buckhead Youth Orchestra, Emory Youth Orchestra, and the Atlanta Symphony Youth Orchestra, and River Trail Middle School’s own Chamber Orchestra.

Mr. Liu’s Goals for the Orchestra Program
❖ Develop the mastery of performance skills and techniques on the string instrument,
❖ Develop effective ensemble performance skills,
❖ Foster a learning environment of support and respect among students of different musical backgrounds, levels, and musical preference,
❖ Cultivate the enjoyment of music performance and develop students into lifelong music performers and supporters.
